Work-In-Public is a series of art-research projects that allow for collective enquiry with groups of people, around issues that are both of social interest and intriguing for the artist. The aim of W-I-P is to create engaging and exploratory contexts of interaction for the artist and the public, providing alternatives to a production-consumption relationship between them.

These projects are are set-up in collaboration with cultural and educational institutions, non for profit associations and private companies; they generally consist of site-specific work-sessions and installations, talks, experimentations in the public space, performances and projections.

Machina

2018 – 2019

Why do we make robots? What is an algorithm? What is intelligence? What is transhumanism? How will humans’ relationship to technology evolve? Can we debate, speculate, write, film, build small machines ourselves to explore all these questions ?

Currently experimented with groups of senior citizens, in collaboration with Musiques et Cultures Digitales, Mairie de Paris, Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains and Centre Communal d’Action Sociale of Enghien-les-Bains.

Scattered time

2017 – 2019

How can we alter the moving image to help us capture speed, the passage of time, and our occupation of space? Explorations on the use of video processing and interactive installation, and how they alter our way of moving, doing and being.

Experimented with the general public and children groups at the Maison des Pratiques Artistiques Amateures, in Paris; and with classes of adolescent students at the Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains.

Electronics of uncertainty

2016 – 2018

How can electronics be used to augment our bodies ? Can this be explored beyond simple prosthetics ? Can we connect to other bodies and interacting together in new ways?

Experimented workers at various private companies in collaboration with Makery & Bluenove; with seniors at the Mediathèque Françoise Sagan and for the Off of Nuit Blanche Paris, in collaboration with Musiques et Cultures Digitales; and with children of pre-school classes in collaboration with Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains.

DDDDraw

2015 – 2019

Who said you can’t draw? Who said you can’t write? Explorations of collective drawing and writing, in public spaces.

Experimented with the public of Médiathèque Françoise Sagan in collaboration with Musiques et Cultures Digitales and with groups of children, adolescents and adults at Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains.

Reflections

2014 – 2017

Are we our images? How do they help build our identities? Are we slaves to their power? Can we play with them to take some critical distance & explore our possibilities?

Experimented with young children and seniors in collaboration with Musiques et Cultures Digitales , Equipes D’Amitiés & Mediathèque Françoise Sagan; and with kids for the festival Plein les Mirettes at Centre des Arts d’Enghien-les-Bains.
